Hanukkah Celebration / Capitol Menorah Lighting

Thank you, Rabbi Levertov!

And thank you to everyone for being here for blessed occasion.

As you can see, the holiday season is upon us … and this evening, we get to make our State Capitol shine even brighter!

This menorah, like Hanukkah itself, tells a story we can ALL appreciate and embrace;
A story of LIBERATION … and of a people who fought honorably -- and prevailed -- to defend their faith and freedom.

A story of HOPE and PEACE … and a reminder that -- even in the darkest and most desperate of times -- we can trust in God to light our way.

That's something we can ALL celebrate this joyous holiday season.

As I light this candle … one last time as Arizona's Governor … I thank you for letting me share in this rich and glorious tradition.

I wish you all a peaceful, prosperous … and bright holiday season.
